MALVERN ST JAMES' GIRLS AIM FOR THE TOP..IN AID OF SPORT RELIEF

sports relief picMore than four hundred girls and staff from Malvern St James School in Worcestershire will be heading for the highest point in their county, when they set off for the top of the Worcestershire Beacon in aid of Sport Relief on Friday 14th March 2008.

Girls from 5 - 18 and their teachers will set off in groups at 1.45 from the School in Avenue Road, and walk to the summit, at the top of the Malvern Hills. They will rendezvous on top of the world, just an hour and a half later for photographs and a bottle of …Malvern Water!

The girls will be leaving behind their traditional uniforms and instead will be adopting a myriad costumes, all in customary Sport Relief red. They hope to raise at least £2,000 on the day.

Headmistress Mrs Rosalind Hayes, who will herself be on the climb, said:
"The event is entirely the girls' idea, it will be a tremendous achievement and we are very proud of their effort for this important charity’’.
